not sure if this is going to be a win for the publisher. this is an attempt at a hollywood-style reset of their franchises, yet it hardly ever works effectively for hollywood. fans of comics are much more rabid in their "ownership" of the material and not keen on tactics like this that affect the validity of the characters. the long-form narrative that have sustained these characters over the past, roughly, hundred years should be honored moving forward and there should be hesitancy to muck with these origin tales in order to gain marketshare. in years past some of these efforts have been successful and hopefully dc can manage this transition while retaining their characters' legends.
